Derren Brown to Attempt Roulette Trick

Derren Brown, master of mind control and all things illusionary, is going to attempt a trick where he will win a fan £175,000 on a single spin of a roulette wheel.

Derren has received a significant amount of media coverage over the past couple of weeks after he successfully predicted last week’s lottery numbers. His explanation for how he managed to complete this feat seemed completely implausible, owing to the totally random nature of the lottery draw and has been attributed to a possible ‘screen-stitching’ trick.

For his roulette stunt, in the show entitled ‘How to Beat A Casino’, Derren will gamble £5,000 of a fan’s savings on the roulette wheel. Fans who enter for the possibility of being chosen by Derren for the task won’t know their cash is being staked until the night of the show. As predicting the outcome of a roulette wheel is accepted as impossible, it remains to be seen how Derren will take on such huge odds and succeed.

How to Beat a Casino will be the final instalment of Derren’s current Channel 4 series, ‘The Events’ which sees the illusionist taking on various tasks to baffle the nation. This weekend he’ll be making the nation literally stick to their seats as he attempts a challenge which will make the nation temporarily immobile.
